What should you consider before getting your nose pierced?
Don't apply makeup to a nose piercing while it's healing to help it heal faster💧
After a nose piercing, you should avoid swimming intensely for two weeks, as bodies of water often contain various bacteria and microorganisms 🏊♀️
We recommend not sticking your nose into saunas, bathhouses, and other humid and hot places for two weeks 🔥
The piercing should be cleaned twice a day with saline solution, such as Hummer or Quixx 🧴.
You can change your nose ring after 30-40 days! ✨

The word "piercing" comes from the English word "to pierce".
The History of Piercing
Piercings are known from the history of various cultures, often performed as part of religious rituals. In recent years, piercings have become widespread in various countries, including Latvia, especially among younger people and teenagers.
How long does a piercing take to heal?
It should be noted that piercings take longer to heal than regular earrings, forming a protective epithelium.
After getting a piercing, strict hygiene and aftercare instructions must be followed. Healing time depends on the piercing location and can be quite lengthy:
- An ear cartilage piercing takes up to a year to heal;
- Navel piercings take anywhere from 4 months to a year to heal;
- For eyebrow piercings, it's 6-8 weeks;
- In the lips and tongue, they last for 2-3 months;
- A nose piercing heals in 8-10 weeks, but a septum piercing heals in 6-8 months.
Scarring can also occur as a complication.
I am a minor, can I get a piercing?
According to Latvian Cabinet Regulation No. 182, piercing minors requires the permission of at least one parent.
How to care for a piercing?
Piercings should not be treated with alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, cologne, or any alcohol-containing products, as they dry out the skin and hinder the healing process.
Piercings need to be cared for with a product designed for that purpose.

🧴 Aftercare – How to clean a nose piercing?
During the healing process, it is recommended to clean the piercing twice a day - morning and evening.
It is recommended to use saline solution purchased at a pharmacy – this is a sterile physiological solution in aerosol form, such as Hummer or Quixx.
Simply spray the solution directly onto the piercing , then allow it to soak in or blot away any excess with a clean paper towel. If the solution runs onto your face, gently wipe it away.
❌ What to avoid after a nose piercing?
To ensure your nose piercing heals properly without infection or irritation, be sure to avoid these things :
Aggressive cleaning agents such as hydrogen peroxide, alcohol , or antibacterial soap will damage the nasal mucosa and unnecessarily irritate the nose piercing.
The area around a nose piercing needs to be cleaned carefully – don't rub it with a towel, as you might pull the nose ring out.
Cotton wool sticks, balls, and cotton swabs – their fibers can get caught in the piercing and interfere with healing.
Public water bodies – swimming pools, bathing areas, hot springs, etc. – carry an increased risk of bacterial contamination. Showering and bathing at home are safer.

🔍 How do you know when a nose piercing is fully healed?
For most people, a nose piercing heals in about 2–3 months . After this period, one good indicator is this: if there are no scabs or discharge visible for 2–3 weeks , the piercing is likely fully healed.
However, it should be taken into account that the healing rate is individual for everyone – some heal faster, others slower.
